The Lake County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Monday morning southwest of Lake Madison.
Sheriff Tim Walburg responded to a call at 7:20 a.m. at the intersection of SD-19 and 238th St. His accident report indicated that Donald Ray Roberts, 55, of Lenox, Ga., was traveling south on SD-19 at 10 mph, intending to make a left turn onto 238th St.
Information collected at the scene indicated that Roberts failed to use his turn indicator while attempting the turn toward the east.
Driving behind Roberts, Karen Lee Haggbloom, 63, of Sioux Falls attempted to pass his vehicle but she ran into a trailer that Roberts was towing.
Roberts was cited for failing to use his turn signal.
Roberts was driving a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 pulling a trailer, and Haggbloom was driving a 2010 Toyota Prius.
