The Lake County Sheriff's Department had no reports of blizzard-related emergencies Thursday (today), but the offices at the Lake County Courthouse were closed.
Madison Fire Chief Randy Minnaert said that emergency-related business for his department remained quiet, and he was busy assisting the city street crews with snow removal.
Officials at Dakota State University announced a weather alert and shut down all classes and university offices. DSU also canceled all presidential inauguration activities scheduled for inducting the university's 22nd president, Dr. David Borofsky.
DSU's weather alert will remain in effect until 5 a.m. on Friday.
