Lake County's unemployment dropped about half a percent between March and April.
Local unemployment for the month of April is 3.5 percent, down from 4.1 percent in March. Unemployment is slightly lower than statewide unemployment, which currently sits at 4.1 percent.
Between March and April, Lake County saw a 45-person reduction in the number of unemployed from 280 to 235. The local labor force also saw an equal increase in the local labor force, but a 90-person increase in employment.
Regionally both Miner County and Moody County saw decreases in unemployment as well. Miner County's unemployment is currently 3.8 percent (down from 4.9 percent in March). Moody County's unemployment is currently 4.6 percent, which is down from 5.3 percent.
