County revisits salvage yard permits Tuesday

A conditional use and variance for a salvage yard west of Madison will be back on the table for discussion Tuesday.|
Lake County Commissioners initially approved the permits a month ago, then rescinded approval and tabled the permits two weeks ago. That item goes before the board at 9:45 a.m. Following discussion on the permits, the board will review eight plats.
The meeting itself starts at 9 a.m. Appointments are as follows:
9:10 a.m., Welfare Manager Peggy Young, indigent request.
At 9:15 a.m., Sheriff Tim Walburg, monthly report, surplus property and mobile home distress warrant.
-- 9:30 a.m., Environmental Specialist John Maursetter, monthly report.
-- 10:15 a.m., Kristen Fox, executive director for Senior Companions of South Dakota, 2014 budget request.
-- 10:30 a.m., tax deed property sale.
-- 10:45 a.m., Norm Jerke, executive director for ECCO, Inc., 2014 budget request.
-- 11 a.m., Chester Volunteer Fire Department, temporary malt beverage license for July 13 street dance.
-- 11:05 a.m., Kim Pederson and Lisa Zens, tax deed property and nuisance complaint.
-- 11:20 a.m., Treasurer Linda Fischer, Highway 34 Customs back taxes.
-- 11:25 a.m., James Schwartz, S.D. Department of Transportation Right of Way, Highway 19 project correction.
2014 budget discussion for the following budgets: weed, register of deeds, commission, predatory animal control, coroner, emergency management and veterans service officer, auditor, elections, contingency and technology.
Commissioners also plan to go into closed session for potential and pending litigation.
The board also plans to discuss stating commission meetings at 8 a.m.
