Roy Hope has spent the better part of his career traveling the country singing gospel music, but Hope also provides a local concert for the area.
This year's concert is Sunday at 7 p.m. at his family farm in Sinai (45678 220th St.). Hope said special guests will be the Dave and Daphne Show featuring Dave Sallyer and Daphne Anderson, a duo that has performed together for 22 years.
"They're doing a big RV show in Huron," he said.
Hope, who is a longtime friend of Sallyer and Anderson, said he couldn't pass up the opportunity to bring them to the area for a concert. The duo sings country and pop tunes from the 1950s, '60s and '70s.
Anyone is welcome to attend the concert. A freewill offering will be taken for Anderson and Sallyer.
Hope said he performed with the Dave and Daphne Show several years ago. The 10-day tour featured 12 shows.
Hope started Roy Hope Ministries in 1971 and has performed hundreds of concerts in the U.S., Canada and Norway. Hope said his Canadian connection is from his mother's side of the family. His father's side is from Norway.
He describes Sunday's concert as an opportunity for friends and family to gather. The concert moves forward rain or shine. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
