The Chester Flyers outscored Viborg/Hurley 16-0 in the final quarter, but it was not enough as Cougars held on for a 34-30 gridiron victory on Friday night at Viborg.
Cole Acheson had a huge night for the Flyers' offense. He completed 13 of 23 passes for 223 yards and threw three touchdown passes. He also rushed for a touchdown.
Jesse Kreutzfeldt caught four passes for 74 yards and one touchdown. Josh Curtis caught four passes for 60 yards and one touchdown.
Austin Dossett grabbed two passes for 33 yards and one touchdown, while Jacob Schoeberl caught one pass for 30 yards.
Dossett rushed for 56 yards on 17 carries while Curtis had two carriers and gained 18 yards.
Viborg/Hurley's Jack Huether rushed for 136 yards on 24 attempts and scored twice. He also completed 5-of-11 passes for 104 yards and had two touchdown passes.
Rusten Anderson rushed 25 times and gained 142 yards and had one touchdown. Dylan Kludt caught three passes for 60 yards and two touchdowns.
Curtis and Acheson led the Flyers' defense with 11 tackles each. Josh Anderson had eight tackles. Payton Seitz had seven tackles while Austin Tammen and Chandler Keppen had six and five tackles, respectively.
Chester (0-3) will host Alcester-Hudson for the Flyers homecoming contest on Friday. The kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
