City to review 2013 sidewalk program
By CHUCK CLEMENT, Staff Reporter 12/07/2012
The Madison City Commission will consider acknowledging proposals from the municipal sidewalk committee regarding which neighborhoods should undergo sidewalk installation and improvements next year during its meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall.

The sidewalk committee members are recommending that property owners along West Ave. from N.W. 2nd St. to S.W. 1st St. and along S.W. 1st St. on all city land west of Ramm Heights Drive to Chicago Ave. either install sidewalks or repair any defective walkways in 2013.

City officials will send out notices to affected property owners and publish the proposed resolutions. Property owners can send written objections to City Hall until Jan. 3, 2013.

The proposed schedule for the improvement plan process includes a hearing at 5:35 p.m. on Jan. 7.

The commissioners' meeting schedule includes a 5:35 p.m. hearing on the renewals for alcoholic beverage licenses and reviewing a resolution regarding the 2013 salary and wage schedule and bids for providing bulk chemicals to the city.
