O-R discusses new graduation requirements
By The Associated Press 12/12/2012
The Oldham-Ramona School District will be looking at its options for meeting new graduation requirements beginning in 2013.

The school board held it's December meeting Monday.

O-R Superintendent Tom Ludens said two new graduation requirements go into effect in 2013 for incoming freshmen. Those students will now be required to have a 1/2 credit of health or a class with the health curriculum included. Students are also required to take a CTE course (like shop or building trades), world language or complete a capstone or service project.

Ludens said O-R currently doesn't offer a health class and will be looking at what can be done to meet that requirement.

In other news the board approved a $1,088 quote for the purchase of some basic weight lifting equipment for the school's new weight room. Ludens said that should be in place after the holiday break.
