County meets Thursday

Lake County Commissioners will meet Thursday this week. Tuesday's regular meeting was postponed due to the New Year's holiday. The commission's first order of business is in the courtroom at 8:30 a.m., when the 2012 elected officials will take their oaths of office.

Regular business begins at 9 a.m. with the board determining the 2013 chairman, vice chairman and board appointments. The commission will approve the 2013 salary schedule and resolutions for election compensation and authorization to attend meetings.

Specific appointments are as follows:

-- 9:30 a.m., Melissa Miller from the Madison Christian School, Safe Routes to School program.

-- 9:40 a.m., Equalization Director Shirley Ebsen, intern position and added tax. Ebsen and Environmental Specialist John Maursetter will discuss expanded GIS usage.

-- 10 a.m., Drainage Officer Deb Reinicke, Randy Carper drainage hearings.

-- 10:15 a.m., Sheriff Tim Walburg, new hire for deputy sheriff and part-time position.

--10:30 a.m., closed session discussion for pending litigation and personnel.
