City to return to S.W. 1st St. sidewalks
By CHUCK CLEMENT, Staff Reporter 01/11/2013
The Madison City Commission will return on Monday to a resolution that would have some property owners along a section of S.W. 1st St. in Madison install sidewalks on their property.

The city commissioners will meet at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.

The commissioners tabled the resolution for one week so officials could study any complications along S.W. 1st St. that could affect sidewalk construction.

The city commissioners will hold a hearing at 5:35 p.m. on the construction progress for the new Head Start building in downtown Madison that will belong to Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership.

The commissioners will consider applications made by the Dakota State University Foundation for temporary alcohol licenses on Jan. 25 and March 9.

They will consider declaring windows as surplus property and receiving information about refunding certain taxable bonds.

The commissioners have also scheduled an executive session for consulting with legal counsel about proposed or pending litigation or contractual matters.
