The Lake County Commission will meet on Tuesday for the opening and closing of the county Board of Equalization.
The County Commission meets annually as the Board of Equalization to ratify any property valuation adjustments made by local township or municipal boards as a result of property owner appeals.
Equalization Director Shirley Ebsen told commissioners on Tuesday that she won't be questioning any decision made by the local boards.
The county Board of Equalization can also hear appeals from local property owners who do not agree with the local township decision. In some cases, local property owners can appeal directly to the county commission, if the property value they are questioning is on a parcel of property that is not within the township they claim as residency.
The county has no property appeals scheduled. All annual business for the county Board of Equalization will be conducted on Tuesday.
Following the Board of Equalization business, the County Commission has closed-session discussion planned for personnel matters.
