The Lake County Sheriff's Office responded to an accident between a car and an all-terrain vehicle that occurred on Saturday afternoon about 7 miles northwest of Ramona.
At about 2 p.m., Joshua Thompson, 29, of Ramona was driving a 2004 Chrysler Sebring south on 445th Ave. According to the accident report, Thompson was driving alone at about 35 mph in a 55 mph zone and his car came up on an ATV, also driving south.
James R. Carmody, 59, of Ramona was driving the 2012 Polaris Sportsman 500 at about 20 mph, riding alone.
About a 1/2-mile north of the avenue's intersection with 223rd St., Carmody attempted a left turn into a driveway and the Chrysler rear-ended the ATV.
Damages to the Chrysler were estimated at $1,500, and damages to the ATV were estimated at $1,000.
