By CHUCK CLEMENT, Staff Reporter
Madison has scheduled this year's Citywide Cleanup for May|
13-16. The city will be divided into four sections with Egan Avenue and N. 2nd/3rd Street being the dividing streets.
Monday will be the southwest section, Tuesday the northwest, Wednesday the northeast and Thursday the southeast section.
Any items not picked up in a section that were out on the
day scheduled will be collected the next day. Once a section has been completed, crews will not return. Residents are urged to place items curbside before their scheduled day, but not more than 48 hours prior to pickup.
Items that will NOT be picked up include appliances,
batteries, paint/stain/varnish, hot water heaters, metals
line swing sets, clothes line poles, etc., leaves, trees,
branches, hazardous materials, solvents, waste oils,
recyclables, cardboard and chipboard, office paper,
electronics and household garbage.
In an effort to control mosquitoes, passenger car and truck
tires will be picked up during Citywide Cleanup. The maximum is eight tires per household; tires must be removed from the rim.
