On Saturday at 4:41 p.m., the Sioux County, Iowa Sheriff's Office investigated an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident that occurred three miles southwest of Orange City, Iowa.
In a press release, the sheriff's office said that Matthew Lemair, 20, of Madison, S.D., was driving a 2012 Arctic Cat 550 ATV on the farm property when the ATV struck a cement barrier. Lemair had jumped from the ATV before hitting the barrier.
LeMair was taken to the Orange City Hospital by private vehicle and later airlifted to Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls for treatment of his injuries.
The Arctic Cat sustained approximately $100 in damages.
