Communication service was disrupted this week for customers of Alliance Communications in the Ramona and Howard areas.
Amy Ahlers, marketing supervisor with Alliance, reported that the company performed a software update to its digital cable TV set-top boxes and DVRs. However, "The new software didn't load correctly" for about 20 customers "due to an incorrect setting." That caused the service interruption.
Ahlers said the setting was corrected on Thursday and the boxes and DVRs "should now have the new software and be functioning properly."
She said that software updates are done regularly and usually go smoothly. However, if any customers are still having problems, she encouraged them to call Alliance at 482-9644 or 772-4644.
