Madison firefighters responded to a false alarm that was sounded early Saturday morning and originated from the Falcon Plastics plant in Madison.
Fire Chief Randy Minnaert reported that two fire trucks were sent to Falcon Plastics at 1:46 a.m. in response to a fire alarm. Minnaert said firefighters discovered that the call was a false alarm caused by a malfunctioning system.
On Friday, technicians had serviced the plant's fire-suppression sprinkler system. Minnaert said the workers may have left conditions, such as air trapped in a line, that caused the false alarm.
Volunteer firefighters verified the false alarm at 2:12 a.m. and returned to the fire station.
