Madison firefighters were called to an alley located in the 500 block of N. Egan Ave. in Madison on Tuesday evening to extinguish a car fire.
Fire Chief Randy Minnaert reported that one fire truck was sent at about 8:10 p.m. to the location after children in a neighboring back yard noticed the burning vehicle and an emergency call was made.
According to Minnaert, firefighters and personnel from the Madison Police Department put out the fire using extinguishers. He said the fire's cause was an electrical problem within the Cadillac's dashboard and the vehicle had received major damage.
No injuries or other property damage were caused by the fire. Minnaert said the emergency personnel finished their work in about 20 minutes.
