"The fun thing is that a lot of the younger kids got a chance to play and show their improvement and future potential," said coach Al Wiese. "We definitely need more work on our short game, but that is impossible to duplicate while practicing inside the school. This was just the third day actually out on the course, so there will be plenty of time for improvements in all areas."
In the junior high competition for the boys, Howard swept the top four spots. Winning was Noah Hodges with a 42. Following him was Aidyn Feldaus with a 57, Kalub Carmicheal with a 64 and Carter Schwader with a 67.
In the girls' junior competition, Howard had the top five golfers. Leading the way was Kamry Esser with a 52. Following her were Alexa Goldammer with a 61, Karley Litterick and Cassiday Gosmire each with a 63, and Jordan Glanzer had a 64.
Howard will swing back into action on Tuesday at the Chester Invitational held at The Lakes Golf Course. Action will begin at 12:30 p.m.
