Two-pickup accident near Lake Herman
By CHUCK CLEMENT, Staff Reporter 05/21/2012
The Lake County Sheriff's Department responded to a two-pickup accident north of Lake Herman on Friday morning.

At about 9:30 a.m., two pickups collided at the intersection of SD-34 and Territorial Road near Prairie Village.

William C. Herrman, 61, of Mitchell was driving east with a passenger on SD-34 at about 55 mph. At the intersection, Herrman's 2011 Dodge Ram collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado that was attempting a left turn.

Andrew A. Wood, 76, of Madison was driving alone westbound on SD-34 in the Chevrolet pickup. Wood was cited for failure to yield.

Damages to the Dodge were estimated at $8,000 and it was towed from the accident scene. The damage done to the Silverado was estimated at $6,500.
