Since 1964, East River Electric Power Cooperative employees have sponsored a Rocky Mountain Oyster Feed to benefit the Children's Care Hospital & School (CCHS).
With more than $16,000 raised last year, organizers are hoping the Madison community shows its generosity again this year by attending the event on Thursday. The benefit will take place at Nicky's with serving beginning at 5:30 p.m.
In addition to rocky mountain oysters, pork sandwiches will be served. Attendees will receive one meal ticket for $10, as well as five chances to win door prizes; or for $20, patrons will receive one ticket and 20 chances.
A silent auction will also be held. Individuals and businesses who wish to donate items are encouraged to call East River at 256-4536.
"The CCHS fund-raiser is such an important night for employees at East River," said Employees Committee Chair Dennis Schneider. "We are honored to do what we can in support of such a worthy cause."
CCHS, located in Sioux Falls, provides care for newborns through age 21 who experience mild learning, behavioral or physical challenges.
