MHS blood drive is March 22
By Staff 03/15/2013
Madison High School will host a blood drive on March 22 from 8:20-11 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m.

"This spring blood drive will help ensure that blood is available for all types of surgeries, traumas, burn and cancer patients," said Ken Versteeg, executive director of the Community Blood Bank.

Donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good general health. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood.

The Community Blood Bank is the sole provider of blood to 29 area hospitals, including Madison Community Hospital, Sanford Health, Avera McKennan, Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota and the VA Medical Center.
