Sheriff's office responds to rollover accident
By CHUCK CLEMENT, Staff Reporter 03/18/2013
The Lake County Sheriff's Department responded to a rollover accident that occurred Monday morning (today) south of Madison.

The sheriff's office received an emergency call at 5:45 a.m. concerning a one-vehicle accident on 454th Ave. near its intersection with 238th Street.

Rosemary Wengert, 61, of rural Madison was driving a 1993 Dodge Dakota pickup and traveling north on 454th Ave. Wengert was traveling at 40 mph when she hit a patch of snow and ice on the roadway and lost control of the vehicle.

The pickup entered the west ditch and rolled onto its top.

Wengert was transported by private vehicle to Madison Community Hospital. She was later transported to a Sioux Falls medical facility for further evaluation of her injuries.

Officers have not issued any citations related to the accident.
