Those interested in serving on the Chester, Rutland or Oldham-Ramona school boards have until mid-May to take out a petition.
Petitions in Rutland and Oldham-Ramona are due by May 10 and petitioners in Chester have until May 13 to file. Chester business manager Kristie Lewis said she will be out of the office May 10 and the Chester school board approved May 13 as the final date for filing petitions.
Chester has three open seats currently held by Kathy Goodale, Nancy Meyer and Janet Park. Meyer and Park have been on the board since 1998; Goodale was first elected in 2010. Lewis said three petitions have been taken out at this time.
Oldham-Ramona has one seat open, which is currently held by Larry Malcomb. Malcomb has been a board member since 2003. He has served three, three-year terms, and a one-year term. No petitions are currently circulating.
At Rutland, four seats are up for election. Those seats are currently held by Steve Jaton, Billie Hoekman, Terry Wicks and Brooke Albertson. Wicks and Hoekman joined the board in 2010. Albertson and Jaton were both appointed to fill the balance of two vacated seats in 2011. Rutland Business Manager Crystal Hansen said four petitions are currently circulating.
