The Ramona and Chester fire departments were called out to area crop fields on Tuesday.
At about 5:10 p.m., 911 emergency dispatch directed the Ramona firefighters to a combine fire located in a field near the intersection of 449th Ave. and 221st St.
Myron Nagel of the Ramona Fire Department reported that Ramona firefighters sent two fire trucks to the scene located several miles northwest of the town. The Oldham Fire Department also sent one truck to the scene.
Nagel said the fire caused no injuries but he described the combine's fire damage as a total loss.
The Ramona firefighters finished their work at about 6:15 p.m.
Later in the evening, Chester firefighters were alerted at about 7:45 p.m. to what was described as a field fire located north of town.
Fire Chief Steve Heyn said the firefighters were directed to a location near the intersection of 464th Ave. and 238th St.
According to Heyn, the firefighters found that the fire was a controlled burn.
