The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra returns to Madison this weekend, and we're excited about listening to another great performance.
The symphony has come to Madison a number of times, with each time bringing new music, and each time receiving standing ovations from the audience.
This year's performance features the music of Michael Jackson. Pop performances like these are extremely popular, with selections by noted composer John Williams (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Catch Me if You Can and Harry Potter) being crowd favorites.
The symphony's performance is set for 2 p.m. March 10 at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse on North Washington Avenue.
Tickets are available to Madison area residents for free, with a suggested (not required) contribution of $5 for adults. All of the proceeds will be donated to Madison area charities. Tickets will be available by mid-February at Lewis Drug in Madison and the Chamber of Commerce office.
Generous local sponsors make the concert possible, and 100 percent of the ticket proceeds will go to local charities.
We urge readers to pick up tickets and enjoy a wonderful opportunity to hear great music.
