City creates improvement reserve fund
By CHUCK CLEMENT, Staff Reporter 08/22/2012
The Madison City Commission established a downtown improvement reserve fund on Monday night that will set aside money in the municipal budget.

The city commissioners also committed $47,000 to the downtown improvement reserve fund.

Commissioner Scott Delzer said the money in the reserve fund was intended to support infrastructure improvements.

City Finance Officer Jeff Heinemeyer told the commissioners that although the money was placed into the reserve fund, city officials had not provided the authority to spend the funds.

Commissioner Dick Ericsson said before the commissioners' vote that the funds were not currently dedicated to any specific project.
