City will consider approving utility rate increases
By CHUCK CLEMENT, Staff Reporter 11/16/2012
The Madison City Commission will hear the second reading and consider passage of ordinances that will increase rates for utilities used by Madison residents when it meets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at City Hall.

The city commissioners will consider approving rate increases for water, sewer and electricity services that will start appearing on utility bills that arrive in December.

In other business, the commissioners will consider:

-- Acknowledging the November meeting minutes of the municipal planning commission.

-- Hearing the first reading of zoning ordinance changes for property fences and yards.

-- Hearing the first reading of an ordinance dealing with alternate members of the city planning commission.

-- Hearing the first reading of a revision to conditional-use permit rules related to hospitals located in different municipal construction zones.

The city commissioners have also scheduled an executive session regarding a consultation with legal counsel about proposed or pending litigation or contractual matters.
