Christmas ornaments vandalized, stolen
By CHUCK CLEMENT, Staff Reporter 11/26/2012
Officers with the Madison Police Department are currently investigating vandalism that occurred last weekend to several Christmas-season lawn ornaments at a residential home.

The police obtained information from the owner of the ornaments who reported the incident at about 11 a.m. on Sunday. The vandal(s) had damaged two lighted wire deer ornaments displayed on a lawn in the 200 block of S.W. 1st St. A third deer ornament was stolen from the property.

The damage and theft occurred between Saturday and late Sunday morning. The ornaments were each valued between $20 and $30.

At noon on Sunday, the owner found the third deer ornament abandoned near an intersection with W. Center St.

Madison police are continuing to investigate the incident, seeking the perpetrators on charges of second-degree petty theft and intentional damage to property.
