Rollover accident sends one to hospital
By CHUCK CLEMENT, Staff Reporter 12/10/2012
The Lake County Sheriff's Department reported that it was notified during the early-morning hours of Dec. 2 that a one-car rollover accident occurred about 5 miles south of Madison and sent one person to a Sioux Falls hospital.

The accident was reported by a third party at about 1:20 a.m. and sheriff's personnel found neither of the car's two occupants at the accident scene upon arrival.

The sheriff's office reported that a car driven by Ryan Donelan, 25, of Madison was driving north on 454th Ave. and went off the roadway about 1/2 mile north of the intersection with 240th St., rolling into the ditch.

Both occupants were ejected from the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt.

The accident report indicated that the car was traveling at 65 mph in a 55 speed zone and the road surface was described as frosty and slick.

The passenger, Tyler Anderson, 26, of Madison, was taken to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Damage to the Cobalt was estimated at $5,000.

The South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks Department also responded to the accident.
