The Madison City Commission approved on Monday the purchase of electric utility material that will help modernize part of the city's electric grid later this year.
The city will accept bids for electric transformers, switches and cable that workers will install this summer in southwest Madison to modernize the municipal electric grid.
Contractors will have until 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 to submit bids at City Hall for providing 1 three-phase padmount distribution transformer, about two dozen single-phase padmount distribution transformers, 15 kilovolt power cable, secondary power cable, and air-insulated padmount switches.
