The owners of Easy Entrees are hoping to sell their business, but they have no plans to close at this time.
Operated by Barb Tornow and Deb Albertson, the local business that started by offering pre-packaged frozen entrees has expanded to include a catering business, a rotating menu of noon meals, and the operation of the cafe at the sale barn. The sale barn cafe is open every Monday and during seasonal Saturday sales.
"Our hope is to keep it open until the new buyer takes over," Tornow said.
The two said the ideal situation would be to have a seamless transition where they close one day and the new owners open the next.
The two former teachers purchased the existing business in 2005. Originally located in Freeman, Tornow and Albertson relocated the business to Madison and established their location next to Madison Nursery and Landscape. Over time, different opportunities have allowed the two to expand their business from frozen entree sales to other business opportunities.
Tornow gives God credit for making those opportunties possible.
"God has really moved us," she said. "Neither of us had any business experience. These opportunties just came along."
Tornow said the two are looking to sell to give Tornow the opportunity to retire.
