The board members also approved a property tax request that will ask the county auditor to levy the following amounts in dollars per $1,000 of property valuations.
The levy requests for the school district's general fund are:
-- Agricultural property -- $2.09.
-- Owner-occupied property -- $4.296.
-- Other nonagricultural (or commercial property) -- $9.20.
The Madison Central School District will request a $3 levy per $1,000 of property valuations for its capital-outlay fund, $1.352 levy per $1,000 for its special education fund, and 30-cent levy per $1,000 for its pension fund.
School officials will also ask the county auditor to assess property owners $391,804 for the bond redemption fund and $250,000 for the annual opt-out to help support Madison's public schools.
