East River Federal Credit Union will host a Member & Community Appreciation & Shred Day for members and the community on Aug. 20. A picnic will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. The credit union will be serving barbecues, chips and pop.
The free document shredding event for members and the community will be held from 5-7 p.m. East River FCU is providing community members with a Shred Day as a means to help them protect their confidential information from identity theft and to continue the credit union mission of "People Helping People."
The shred professionals from Dakota Data Shred will be on site to shred items such as old statements, receipts, bills, credit card offers and other documents containing personal information.
East River FCU staff and volunteers will be on hand to help carry shredding to the truck. Community members may bring up to four boxes of documents for shredding.
East River Federal Credit Union provides financial services to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Lake or Miner county.
