The Lake County Sheriff's Office received a call at 10:10 p.m. on Friday concerning an injury accident involving a motorcycle about 4 miles south of Madison near the intersection of 454th Ave. and 238th St.
Sheriff Tim Walburg reported that Casey Lee Martinell, 23, of Brookings was riding south on 454th Ave. when his motorcycle collided with a deer that came out of the east ditch. Martinell was transported to the Madison Community Hospital by private vehicle for minor injuries.
Martinell was riding a 1992 Honda motorcycle, and its damage was estimated at $1,500.
Sheriff's personnel responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of 463rd Ave. and 240th St. northwest of Chester that was reported at 12:28 p.m. on Aug. 15.
Early Thursday afternoon, Josie Wolff of Chester was driving a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix traveling east on 240th St. At the street's intersection with 463rd Ave., Wolff met up with Travis Fetters of Sioux Falls who was driving a 2003 Kenworth semi. Fetters was driving the truck south on 463rd Ave.
Fetters stopped for the stop sign and then pulled out from the intersection onto 463rd Ave. At the intersection, his truck collided with Wolff's car as she was traveling east on 240th St.
Fetters was issued a citation for failing to yield.
Damage to Wolff's car was estimated at $5,600, and damage to Fetters' semi was estimated at $2,800.
