City to hold hearing on 2013 sidewalk projects

The Madison City Commission will hold a hearing on the proposals related to the city's 2013 sidewalk construction project during its meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at City Hall.|
The city commissioners will hold a hearing at 5:35 p.m. on two resolutions to require property owners in two Madison neighborhoods to construct or repair sidewalks on their land. The street sections proposed for the 2013 project are West Ave. between N.W. 2nd St. and S.W. 1st St. and S.W. 1st St. from Chicago Ave. west to the city's boundary.
The commissioners will consider setting April 9 as the next election day for municipal offices.
Before the commissioners' meeting, they will hold a supervisors meeting at 4:30 p.m. at the city airport.
In other business, the commissioners will consider;
-- Reviewing a sub-grant award agreement provided by the state Bureau of Information & Telecommunications.
-- Appointing members to the city's electric advisory committee.
-- Reviewing recent rebate program recommendations provided by the electric advisory committee.
-- Appointing city representatives to the Community Center Board.
-- Releasing the 2013 salary listing for municipal employees.
-- Declaring water meters as surplus property.
The commissioners have scheduled an executive session at the end of the meeting to discuss consultations with legal counsel about proposed or pending litigation or contractual matters.
