City to consider security light ordinance

The Madison City Commission will consider adding a new ordinance outlining the city electric department's involvement in the installation of security light systems when it meets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at City Hall.|
The city commissioners will hear the second reading of the security lights ordinance, which involves installation at "primarily residential locations," after the start of their meeting.
In other business, the commissioners will consider:
-- Setting a bid date for a 2013 water main improvement project.
-- Passing a resolution in support of the state Department of Transportation hiring Aason Engineering Co. for bridge inspection work.
-- Approving an agreement involving funding for an SDDOT transportation planning study.
-- Approving an agreement with BSNF Railway Co. for an electric supply line across railroad property.
-- Consenting to plat Lot 3 of Block 2 of the Lakeview Industrial Park's 15th Addition.
-- Sending a letter of support for a grant application to the Safe Routes to School program.
The city commissioners have also scheduled an executive session to consult with legal counsel about proposed or pending litigation or contractual matters.
