City to hear from Lewis & Clark official

The Madison City Commission will hear a report from the executive director of the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System when it meets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at City Hall.|
Troy Larson, LCRWS executive director, will update the city on efforts to finish construction of the water pipeline that is supposed to transport Missouri River water to Madison when it is completed.
The city commissioners will also consider awarding a contract to modernize the municipal water treatment plant and its system.
In other business, the commissioners will consider:
-- Hearing a request from John Marko regarding an Izaak Walton carnival scheduled for June 6-8.
-- Acknowledging a thank-you letter from Sioux Falls officials expressing gratitude for assistance provided by personnel with the Madison Electric Department.
-- Hearing the first reading of an ordinance dealing with the repeal of yard-waste collection.
-- Reviewing a resolution determining the zoning of annexed territory into specific areas for highway business and agricultural districts.
-- Approving a replat in Shimerda's Addition.
The commissioners have scheduled an executive session at the end of their meeting to consult with legal counsel about proposed or pending litigation or contractual matters.
