Tigers go 2-1 in quadrangular

The Howard wrestlers were on the mat and went 2-1 during a quadrangular at Howard on Tuesday night.

The Tigers had four grapplers who were unbeaten for the night: Luke Loudenburg, Cole Hodges, Tanner Henkel and James Jungwirth.

Loudenburg, competing in the 120-pound class, had one pin and two forfeits. He pinned Peyton Webster of West Central in 2:31.

Hodges picked up two pins and a decision in the 126-pound class. He pinned Si Flatten of Flandreau in 49 seconds and earned his second pin against Sutton Adams of Dell Rapids in 1:09. Hodges beat Tristan Boeckholt of West Central 7-4.

Henkel picked up three wins in the 152-pound class. He pinned Aaron Mullinger in 5:08. He earned a technical fall over Jonah Longville of Dell Rapids 15-0 and beat Flandreau's Jake Scofield 11-4.

Jungwirth had a decision win, a technical fall and a forfeit win in the 170-pound class. Jungwirth earned a decision over Kyle Scofield of Flandreau 8-3 and a technical fall over Brock Reinhiller of Dell Rapids 19-2.

Howard picked up wins over Flandreau 39-27 and Dell Rapids 40-39. West Central downed the Tigers 37-30.

Howard will swing back into action on Saturday at the Parker Tournament. Action will begin at 10 a.m.
