Bulldogs notch qualifying times in Lennox track meet

Madison High School's track teams went to Lennox on Monday for the Lennox Invitational.|
Austin Handley had state meet qualifying times in the 1600 and 3200-meter runs. He was clocked in 4:37.7 in the 1600-meter run and 10:23.7 in the 3200-meter run. He won the 3200-meter run.
Emily Hawkes ran a state meet qualifying time of 2:52.2 in the 800-meter run.
The girls' 1600-meter relay team of Madison Nipe, Olivia Rud, Hailey Streff and Lexi Finck had a state meet qualifying time of 4:12.9 and placed first in the event.
"We had a lot of great efforts again," said Kevin DeCurtins. "Many of our athletes had their personal best, some state qualifiers and some near misses."
Hunter Streff won the boys' 1600-meter run in a time of 4:33.0.
Tyler Currey won the discus with a throw of 152-feet-8.
The foursome of Luke Zingmark, Tom Rowland, Tyler Lentsch and Dallas Fernau won the 3200-meter relay with a time of 8:36.1.
Hawkes won the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:23.4, which broke the state meet qualifying time.
Rud won the 400-meter dash with a time of 62.1.
Coley Stoller won both the long jump with leap of 15-feet-6.75 and the triple jump with a leap of 34-feet-2.
Jordin Delzer won the discus with a toss of 110-feet-10.
Howard Wood Relays
The Bulldogs produced four second-place finishes at the Howard Wood Relays over the weekend.
Tayler Anderson placed second in the long jump with a leap of 20-feet-11.50.
The sprint medley relay team of Rush Milne, Anderson, Brendon Waldner and Hunter Streff placed second with a time of 3:42.33.
The foursome of Zingmark, Handley, Jacob Giles and Hunter Streff placed second in the 3200-meter relay with a time of 8:30.43.
In the girls' division, the 3200-meter relay team of Nipe, Jenni Giles, Hailey Streff and Hawkes placed second with a time of 9:55.35.
Sioux Falls O'Gorman Qualifier
Madison had two first-place finishes at the Sioux Falls O'Gorman Qualifying meet held on Friday.
Mandy Engbrecht won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.12 seconds.
Rud claimed the 200-meter dash in a time of 28.38 seconds.
Madison will return to action on Thursday. The Bulldogs will go to Harrisburg for the final Big 8 Conference meet. Action will begin at 3 p.m.
