Broncos stay unbeaten in league play

The Madison Broncos' current win streak grew to eight on Thursday night with a 5-3 win over the Lennox Only One in Cornbelt League action at Lennox.|
Madison remains unbeaten in the Cornbelt League with a 7-0 mark.
The Broncos scored twice in the second inning to take the lead.
Lennox bounced back in the bottom of the second frame and scored three runs to grab a 3-2 advantage.
Lennox held the lead until the top of the fifth. The Broncos pushed one run across the plate to grab a 4-3 advantage.
Madison added single runs in the seventh and eighth innings to make the final score read 5-3.
Both teams had 10 hitse. Trent Miller had two doubles and a single to lead the offensive charge for the Broncos.
Greg Biagi had a double and a single for Madison. Eric Hortness, Matt Burpee, Brian Miller, Nick Bird and Jon Waba each had a single for the winners.
Mitch McNary started on the mound for the Broncos and went seven innings to pick up the win. He allowed seven hits, three runs (two unearned), struck out eight and walked two.
Hortness finished on the hill for the Broncos to register the save. He gave up three hits in two innings and had two strikeouts and two walks.
Madison (9-2 overall) will have a busy weekend. The Broncos will go to Lake Norden on Saturday for a pair of games. Madison will tangle with Britton at 3 p.m. and then will face Lake Norden at 5 p.m.
On Sunday, the Broncos will go to Canova to tangle with Canova Gang at 2 p.m. This game will match the top two teams in the Cornbelt League.
