Broncos unbeaten in June

The Madison Broncos finished the month of June unbeaten (9-0) when they edged past the Canistota Rebels 6-2 on Sunday.|
Neither team scored until the fourth frame. Madison plated four runs and never looked back in posting the win. The Broncos added a run in the seventh frame to hold a 5-0 advantage.
Canistota scored twice in the eighth inning to trail 5-2. The Broncos added one run in the ninth frame to make the final score read 6-2.
Madison banged out 11 hits in the game. Mitch McNary had a huge game at the plate for the Broncos. He had a home run, two doubles, a single and an RBI to pace the offensive attack.
Jordan Brown had a pair of singles. Brian Miller, Nick Bird, Trevor Johnson, Ray Wagner and Jon Waba each had a single for the winners.
Brock Selgestad pitched six innings to pick up the win. He gave up one hit, had 13 strike-outs and one walk.
Wagner finished on the hill for the Broncos and pitched three innings. He gave up two runs, five hits, had three strike-outs and one walk.
Before the regular game with the Rebels, the two teams finished a game from May 30 that was called due to weather conditions. The Broncos won that game 11-5.
Madison (12-0 in the Cornbelt League and 14-2 overall) will swing back into action on Sunday. The Broncos will host the Humboldt-Hartford Gamecocks in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. at Flynn Field.
The Broncos have just four regular-season games remaining.
