New digital scoreboards purchased for Fieldhouse

The Dakota State University Athletic Department recently received two $25,000 anonymous gifts to be used for facility improvements at the Fieldhouse. With this money, DSU was able to purchase two digital score tables from Daktronics.|
"These score tables will allow officials to integrate the Daktronics statistics package used for the game with the digital display and to show live game stats for the players throughout the games," said DSU Athletic Director Jeff Dittman.
Additionally, DSU will be able to use the tables for advertising.
Tom Halverson, dean of the Business Information Systems Department, has given the Athletic Department the use of a Tech Fellow this year. With this student, who has an animation background, DSU will be able to develop new, eye-catching ads.
Any business or individual wishing to purchase an ad for the new score tables should contact Dittman or Halverson. The ads are sold on a one-year contract.
"There will be one-night ads that people can purchase," Dittman said, such as birthday or anniversary ads, that would cost $25.
"The animator will also be asked to provide crowd interaction graphics," Dittman said. The crowd will see various prompts during the game to "Make Noise" or "Get on your Feet and Cheer" or "Raise the Roof."
"This will add to the home-court environment that DSU wants for student-athletes," Dittman said.
DSU also upgraded its Pro Star message board to be in sync with the new score tables.
Dittman doesn't believe that any other NAIA school has anything like this new set-up that DSU has for the fans.
"We feature something most other schools won't," he said.
