02/05/2013 Kindergarten registration scheduled By Staff Madison Central kindergarten registration will be held on Feb. 7 and 11 at Madison Elementary School. Parents may stop at the school on Feb. 7 between 8 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. or Feb. 11 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Bring a copy of the child's certified birth certificate and current immunization record. State law requires that the school have a copy of the birth certificate on file. Hospital certificates cannot be accepted. It will take approximately 15 minutes to fill out registration forms. To be eligible for kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1. A child who is 6 years old on or before Sept. 1 is required to attend school in accordance with the compulsory attendance law. School district officials ask residents to inform others who may need to be informed about registration. Anyone with questions can call the school at 256-7721.
