A third man, Richard Reyes of Madison, has joined the group of candidates for three seats on the Madison School Board. School district officials reported Wednesday (today) that Reyes submitted a petition form to run in the April 9 election. He joins Tom Farrell of Madison, the current school board president, and Charles R. Moore of Madison in submitting petitions to run as candidates. The three-year terms of school board members Farrell, Ryan Hegg and Paul Weist end this spring. If only three persons submit election petitions to run in the school board election, those three individuals will occupy the board seats by default, eliminating the need to hold an election for the Madison Central School District. At least four candidates are needed to hold a school district election this spring. The school district has scheduled a combined election with the city of Madison. Four candidates have taken out petitions to run for mayor. Potential candidates have until Feb. 22 to turn in their completed petition forms.
